Are You in the Market for a No Contract Cell Phone?
Have you tried to acquire cellular service only to find out that providers are requiring a hefty deposit because of your not so good credit report? Do not despair, as there are options which cater to those in need of a no contract cell phone. Since a contract is not involved, there are no credit checks. You simply pay month to month, or refill as you need to.
This isn’t such a bad option either. Granted, you will pay a bit more per minute than if you did sign up for a two year plan, but you can still get a nice phone, good service, and some pretty good perks.
What makes it much easier to get this service is the fact that you prepay. Surely you have heard of ‘pay-as-you-go’, right? That is what pay-as-you-go is, prepaid.
A lot of companies such as AT&T, T-Mobile, Cricket, and Virgin Mobile offer prepaid cellular. But each does not necessarily provide service in your area, so first you want to check a coverage map, or submit your zip code to verify that it will work for you. Once you have narrowed down the providers available to you, you should then compare the features of each.
Before you make your final decision though, find out who provides cellular service to your friends, family and colleagues you talk to the most. You see, some company’s offer free member to member calling, even with their prepaid option. This can be a huge advantage to you.
Depending upon the carrier you choose, other options can vary too, such as free text messaging, free nights and weekends, free voice mail, etc.
There are two methods of prepay for you to take advantage of. One is to prepay for a chosen plan each month. The other is to purchase prepaid minutes as you need them. Not all companies offer both of these methods, but many do. Simply decide which is right for you.
Often, you can get a better deal on the internet, than if you were to purchase at a retail location. So, keep that in mind if you want to save yourself a little money.

Help answer the question about cell phone compare plan
can you suggest a websitefor comparing cell phone service plans?I was looking at wirefly.com… after checking it out for a few hours and comparing to major cell phone services' websites I found that the info presented accurately shows what the plans are by each company…
however… it only seems to show comarisons in a table of monthly base price, anytime minutes, if weekend/night is free, and JD Power rating…
It would be nice to have a table showing more to compare. I am interested in activation fees, if roaming is included, if mobile to mobile is included… things like that. A good website that often offers great package deals (like free phones) would be appreciated also.
OR… any website really that subjectively and objectively gives the "low down"/dirt on which company is best per the consumer's situation…
(I will still be pursing companies on the phone/in their official stores/in indirect multi-company stores/etc)
THANKS!

Tracphone is the best over all. But you do know that you can still keep the service you have without renewing your contract. It would be on a month to month basics once the contract ends. That way it would give you time to look around and find the best deal.
I have Alltel. Worst ompany I have ever been with. Problem is they are all buying each other out, so in a few years, there will probably only be 2 cell companies left. I have friends with Verizon, and are VERY pleased.
Why? because millions of people write a cheque and pay these charges without blinking an eye.
I'd rob peeople blind if they let me too
If you want a phone that will allow you to play mp3 files, get the chocolate. If you want a phone that looks amazing and takes good pictures get the KRZR
iPhone, HTC touch, best ones. Touch screen phones are the new style, and if for you money is no problem, then thats the way to go. Both phones has an app store for stuff.
Also LG Voyager is good, but you HAVE to get it unlocked because it's only for Verizon.
Stay away from wirefly! I used to work for tmobile and when customers would sign up they would call us over issues with wirefly. They take a long time to honor there mail in rebates and most of the time you wont even get the rebate. I would apply though amazon.com. They have good deals and some offers dont need rebates. Good luck.
depending where you live, they usually have a phone plan that you pay like $45 and you can talk unlimited…
In Miami its called Metro PCS.
But my pick is cingular.
$45 a month, roll over, and great reception.
