The Cell Phone
The cell phone industry has come a long way since the inception of the private use personal cellular phone. In the late eighties and very early nineties it was a huge deal if you had a corded cellular phone in your car. The personal cell phone had terrible reception and was so large that you couldn’t exactly put it your pocket for convenient usage. To look back now and compare the cell phone industry’s first amazing wonders with the sleek razor phones of today, the first cell phones were actually laughable, but of course we didn’t know it.
Cell phones operate on a basic frequency notion of cell sites and the use of handover to be competitive in the industry. Using technology that most people aren’t interested in provided it is working when they are using their cell phone, handover is at the heart of the cell phone competition craze to provide the network with “fewest dropped calls.”
While cell phone technology and even some cell phone usage has been around since the mid nineteen forties, most people hadn’t heard of the usefulness of a cell phone until the early to mid eighties, where cell phones were predominately car phones.
Cell phone technology has grown immensely since cell phone usage has hit a massive boom stemming from the late nineties to early two thousands that has increased the capability of the average cell phone. Cell phones were once upon a time utilized only for placing or receiving a phone call. Now they come with the ability to text and instant message, take pictures and videos, do math, download information and music from the internet, wake you up with their plethora of alarms, download e-mail, and perhaps in the next year or two they will be able to walk to the dog and do the dishes. Cell phone technology is advancing at an amazing rate in an attempt to annihilate cell phone competitors.
The boom in cell phone popularity has led to various cell phone related offshoots such as cell phone etiquette, cell phones for children, cell phone accessories, and of course, cell phone competitive plans. The ease and flexibility that a cell phone now provides is contributing to the slow but eventual downfall to land line services. In the United Kingdom, it has been reported that the number of working cell phones actually out number the latest census.
Cell phone technology has leapt forward and a tremendous growth has only led to more competition. It will be interesting to watch the cell phone industry continuously make improvements and create developments that will lead to more user friendly cell phone features.

Help answer the question about compare cell phones
I am getting a cell phone, can ya'll compare these phones for me and tell me which is best?Ok, I am a girl and I am getting a cell phone and I have to buy the phone with my own money. It is between the LG Rumor, the Sanyo Katana LX and the LG Muziq. If you have these phones or have had these phones, can you please give me their pros, cons, anything about them you would like to share to help me decide. I need my phone to have a good camera, a good audio, and text messaging and if it's a cool phone in general, that'd be great. Also, I'm with Sprint and if you have a phone that's you think is better than these 3, tell me. It must be with Sprint and I dont' want to pay over $50.00 for a phone. Thank you

I'd have to say either the HTC hero or the blackberry 9700.
Htc is like the iphone for Sprint. It has an app store, it is touch screen, it's cool, it has a trackball,
but it has the android OS. My opinion is that iphone OS is better.
Now the blackberry bold 9700 is unique. Yes it has push email, and blackberry app store, and is kind-of-big. But it has a track pad. Now instead of rolling the trackball you have a pad that is Optical. Just drag your finger along the pad and the mouse moves. No more numb fingers off the trackball.
It will require LOTS of money in order to start your own cellphone company…
GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!
veruzon and sprint only.
