Go to any Cingualr store and ask them set you up with a prepaid plan. (Pay as you GO or GO-Phone) They have one that charges you .25/min and another plan that charges you $1.00 for the first call of the day and then .10/min for the rest of the day. If you buy a prepaid amount of $100.00 or more it will be good for one year. You can buy the refill cards virtually anywhere. No plans or contracts and no hassles. This is the way I have been doing it for a couple of years. Its great for a person who doens't need to be on a cellphone all day and it includes texting and web access. You could buy a phone at the store (expensive!) or just use an old one that you have or even buy one off of ebay. They will give you a SIM chip when you sign up. I keep the chip in my wallet and just switch it on my regualr phone when I need to use my personal one.
if u r chatting about cellfone there are many cheap ones out there but if u mean the network i think o2 is the cheapest at the moment, sms is only 10p per message but u can get sims with bolt ons that allow u up to 300 free messages per month for as little as £10 per top up per month, hope this helps

Hi Mike H ,
I would recommend the Motorola RAZR. You can get it free after rebate from most providers. It is a great functional phone that is durable and will serve your son well.
I can't give you prices because they vary by area but in Chattanooga right now I can get a RAZR V3 free after rebate.
