The Time Has Come For GSM Unlocked Cell Phones
What is all the uproar about a GSM unlocked cell phone? Almost all the major carriers are willing to accept unlocked phones on their network. We can all say “it is about time”. With good news also comes a tad of bad news. Regrettably, cell phones like unlocked cell phones with Bluetooth or an unlocked cell phone new Nokia 7280 unlocked Bluetooth camera GSM phone can cost a lot more since they are not supported by the carriers. What this means is that you don’t get to apply discounts to the purchase of your phone in most cases.
Nokia seems to be the more fashionable cell phone manufacture with unlocked cell phones. The unlocked Nokia 3650 GSM tri band camera video phone finds itself in high demand on auction sites. Also you will find that the Nokia 6620 unlocked camera video phone GSM is extremely popular as well. Even though you find some great bargains on Nokia, they still cost more than the ones you can buy from the carrier. Occasionally they don’t offer some of the more “cool” phones.
There is something intriguing about a new Nokia 6620 unlocked GSM color camera video phone. Imagine, turning your cell phone into not only a camera phone but also a video phone. You can use the digital storage card to store your videos and transfer them to your camera. Is that cool or what? Motorola can’t be left out either. They have the sexy Motorola v3 Razr black unlocked video camera phone fighting for its share of the video camera phone market.
There are other cell phone manufactures such as Sony Ericsson. Sony Ericsson z600 blue unlocked GSM camera phone or their new unlocked Cingular v220 Motorola GSM camera phone are heavily searched for because of their cameras and video capability. In discussing Sony, you can’t leave out their Sony Ericsson z2600 blue unlocked GSM camera phone. Last but not least is the GSM 900 unlocked cell phone.
Naturally because of it high popularity there is a demand to reset unlocked iPhone. Apple is smoking hot right now with their iPhone. It only makes senses that people are looking to unlock an iPhone. Apple just recently announce the 3G iPhone. AT&T has a strange new pricing schedule to go with the use of the new iPhones. It looks like this new service price offering is going to increase the market for unlocked iPhones. Time will tell.
Nokia and Samsun seems to have a winning combination. The unlocked Samsung SGH z510 super slim GSM unlocked camera phone is reasonably price with a fair amount of features. It seems to be a good bang for your buck.
Verizon Wireless is still running their “different” network compared to the faster 3G network. The good news is that Verizon has announced they will be joining the 4G when it becomes available by 2010. This is great since many of the truly cool phones are not compatible with Verizon network. Yes, they have a solid network but it limits the use of such phones like Apple iPhone. Fortunately, Verizon has opened their network and you can bring over unlocked CDMA cell phones. This takes some of the sting out.

Help answer the question about compare cell phone prices
Getting a new cell phone and my carrier is verizon…?I just bought a Razr2 last week. So far I think its too big, and since I dont use VCast, I'd have to say the only nice thing, is the call quality. I like having a nice cell phone and this is nice but compared to other carriers versions of this phone, and compared to the official motorola razr2 site, this phone is a let down.
I am getting a new phone and getting rid of the razr2. I have considered the following:
Chocolate (the newer one)
MotoRizr z6tv (its only $180 and I was wondering if the phone was only priced that high because it can display tv—which I wont be doing. By the way I like spending a decent amount of money on a phone which is why I didnt mind spending the $250 on the razr2…as long as its worth it)
Q9M (its a smartphone but then I was wondering if I would like the full QWERTY keyboard … especially for texting)
Reactivating my old phone and waiting for the newer phone, the LG Venus (not sure it'll b that good though)

If the phone is unlocked an is GSM you can use it with any cell phone carrier that uses sim cards. You can get a sim card from any carrier just by going into their stores or calling them. If the phone is locked you can purchase unlocking codes from ebay for around 15 to 30 dollars.
GSM is the technology that uses sim cards. If its unlocked, GSM and Quad Band (having 4 frequencies 850/900/1900/1800) then Cingular can use it. If you will use it in the US primarily, then all you really need is it to have 850 AND 1900.
Although there are several types of "locks" that can apply to a phone, the most talked-about type is a carrier lock, also known as a SIM lock or subsidy lock.
Many phones sold by carriers come "locked" to that carrier. A "locked" phone can only be used with that carrier; it cannot be used with another carrier's service. (Not counting roaming.)
This lock can usually be removed by entering a special code or numeric password. In some situations, some carriers will supply this code upon request by the customer; not all carriers will do this.
There are also third-party companies that sell such codes, or other types of unlocking services.
I think I found the right phone your describing, and the page says no returns only exchanges, so I would give it a try.
It may have not been the best decision by your mom, but its too late she already bought it. So try and do the best with what you got.
Hi Laura
GSM technology is the world standard and is the same technology Rogers uses. Once a GSM phone is unlocked, it will work with any GSM sim worldwide. The majority of the world is GSM and works on either GSM850/900/1800/1900 North America is GSM850/1900 and Europe and Asia is GSM900/1800. You also have 3g (wcdma) 850/1900 for North America and 2100 for the rest of the World.
If you want a phone that incorporates all the above technology, a true travel world phone that is also a PDA Smartphone, look at the HTC Tilt. This phone is GSM850/900/1800/1900 and WCDMA850/1900/2100. Wherever your travels take you, from around the corner or to Europe and Asia, you will be able to take advantage of all the cellular technology worldwide
Cheers
Hello,
If you are using AT&T then I recommend getting a quadband GSM phone which uses all 850/900/1800/1900 MHz Bands
Triband phones will not work on the 850 mHZ band and that is a problem sometimes for AT&T users, since AT&T uses the 1900 MHZ band in some places but also uses the 850 MHZ in others. A quadband phone will work on all networks and you will have no problem.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!
considering you stole it, no.
